For you craving a mountainous challenge, the "Mountain Mastery" hike awaits. Set out on a mindful hike exploring more demanding trails and conquering lofty peaks within the Lofotodden National Park.

Why not challenge yourself physically and mentally as you conquer the rugged terrain of Lofoten's mountains while harnessing the power of breath?

 

During more challenging sections of the hike, bring your attention to your breath. Notice the rhythm of your inhales and exhales, using your breath as an anchor to stay present and focused.

We believe that through cultivating awareness of our breath, we can navigate physical and mental challenges with greater awareness and resilience.

THE 5 PRINCIPLES OF
MINDFUL HIKING

  • Connect with nature: Take time to connect with nature by pausing to appreciate the intricate beauty of a flower or the majesty of a mountain. Feel the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, and the coolness of a stream. Feel a sense of connection and harmony with the natural world.
     

  • Focus on the present moment: Join on a silent walk and pay attention to your breath, the sensation of your feet on the ground, and the sights and sounds around you. Notice the colors, textures, and shapes of the trees, rocks, and other natural features.

 

  • Practice gratitude: Take a few moments to reflect on the natural beauty around you and express gratitude for the opportunity to be in such a stunning environment. You may wish to say a silent prayer or simply express gratitude in your mind.

 

  • Meditate: Find a quiet spot in nature and sit comfortably, focusing on your breath. Allow your thoughts to come and go without judgment or attachment - simply observe. You may wish to focus on a particular intention or affirmation, such as peace, love, or compassion. 
     

  • Express creativity: Engage in a creative activity such as sketching, painting, photographing or writing, inspired by the natural surroundings. Allow your creative expression to flow freely, without judgment or self-criticism.
