ARCTIC CULINARY EXPERIENCE
THE JOURNEY

DAY 1
Leaving the mainland and crossing the Vestfjord to get to the islands by plane or by ferry, you will see the wall of the Lofoten mountains fading straight from the ocean like a lost world in the movies.
You will be picked up from Moskenes ferry station and even after this short drive your breath might be taken away by the powerful nature around you.
When you arrive at Lofoten Planet we will gather for a short introduction and briefing about what will happen during the following days.
You’ll also be introduced to the creative flow of the retreat and how photography will be used as a tool for presence, storytelling, and self-expression throughout the week.
The evening will be followed by Welcome Dinner before you will peacefully land in your soundproof room to recharge for your adventurous journey that will start the next morning.
DAY 2
We will start the day enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet at the local restaurant.
During your first workshop you will step into the landscape and learn how to place a human presence within the vast beauty of Lofoten in a way that feels natural, powerful, and connected.
After a short introduction to scale, composition, and storytelling, you will head out on a guided photography hike where theory immediately becomes practice. You will explore how to photograph people without forced posing, how to use perspective to create emotion, and how to see the landscape as more than a backdrop, but as part of the story. The route will be chosen according to the weather and the group’s energy level, leading you through the powerful waterfalls above Sørvågen, peaceful mountain lakes, and the dramatic peaks of Lofotodden National Park.
Optional self-portrait practice will be offered as a gentle exercise in confidence and self-trust.You will return not only with strong images, but with a deeper sense of presence and greater confidence in photographing people in nature.
After the hike, you will return to the hotel to prepare and share a meal together for a moment to connect, reflect, and recharge.
In the evening, we will invite you to a calming yoga session with a local teacher, allowing you to unwind and gently integrate the impressions of the day.
You will close the day feeling grounded, inspired, and more confident in your ability to photograph people in nature.
DAY 3
You will begin the day with a delicious breakfast buffet at a local restaurant, fueling up for another day of creativity and adventure.
In Workshop 2, you will shift your focus from chasing the perfect shot to capturing real emotion. You will explore movement as storytelling, experiment with blur versus freeze, and practice shooting intuitively instead of overthinking. Through dynamic outdoor exercises, you will photograph while walking, turning, and interacting with wind and terrain, allowing imperfection to become part of your creative language.
You will discover a new sense of freedom behind the camera and learn to trust your instinct.
In the afternoon, we will hike to the iconic Reinebringen, climbing more than 2,000 steps to its breathtaking summit. From the top, sweeping panoramic views open over fjords, Reinevatnet Lake, and the picturesque fishing villages far below, one of Norway’s most unforgettable viewpoints.
After the hike, you return to the hotel to prepare and share a meal together, creating space to connect, reflect, and recharge.
In the evening, you are invited to a calming yoga session with a local teacher, helping you unwind and gently integrate the powerful impressions of the day.

DAY 4
You begin the day with a delicious breakfast buffet at a local restaurant before gathering for your final photography workshop.
You will bring your images together and transform them into a personal story. You will learn how to select photos with intention, build a visual narrative, and create a cohesive mini photo series. Choosing 5–7 images from your time in Lofoten, you will shape them into a meaningful sequence that reflects your unique experience and perspective. You will leave the workshop with a finished photo story and a clearer understanding of your visual voice.
In the afternoon, we will head out on a guided kayaking adventure into the heart of Reinefjorden. Gliding across calm waters beneath towering peaks, you will photograph iconic rorbuer cabins and bridges, discover edible seaweed, and watch for local wildlife, all surrounded by breathtaking fjord scenery.
After the tour, we will visit the culinary gem of Sakrisøy, known for its famous fish burger and what many consider the best fish soup in the region. It’s a moment to enjoy authentic flavors and perhaps bring home a unique culinary souvenir.
In the evening, you will gently soothe your energy during a deeply relaxing sound journey with local sound masters.
DAY 5
After breakfast, we will set off for a full-day exploration of the westernmost part of the Lofoten Islands, where land, ocean, and sky meet in dramatic harmony.
You will visit Å, the last village at the end of the E10 road and one of Lofoten’s oldest fishing communities. Here, you will wander through the historic fishing village museum and visit its traditional bakery, where tasting the famous cinnamon buns is simply a must. Standing on the cliffs at the very edge of the archipelago, you gaze toward the distant islands of Værøy and Røst on the horizon.
On the way, we will stop in Nusfjord, one of Norway’s oldest and best-preserved fishing villages. With its traditional red and yellow rorbuer cabins, quiet harbor, and authentic maritime atmosphere, Nusfjord feels like stepping back in time. It’s a perfect place to photograph heritage architecture framed by dramatic mountain backdrops.
We will continue with a walk along the white sandy beaches of Flakstad on the outer side of the islands, before visiting the magical Glasshytta in Vikten. Here, you will witness local artisans transforming glowing liquid glass into delicate works of art, a beautiful source of creative inspiration.
You will end this rich and eventful day with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, sharing impressions, flavors, and unforgettable views from the edge of the world.

We will cross the higher ground to get to the wild outer-coast, where on the huge, arctic sandy beach you will get through TTT ritual and become a member of the Lofoten tribe. We invite you for a walking meditation barefoot before serving you a simple meal on the beach.
After a whole day spent outdoors, in the evening you will enjoy clearing your body and mind in a sauna.

RETREAT LEADERS
VIKTORIJA
PHOTOGRAPHER
I’m a photographer and visual storyteller based in Norway, working with nature, people, and emotion as the core of my practice. I’m less interested in perfect images and more interested in honest ones - when we pay attention and occasionally let things be a little imperfect.
Lofoten has played a big role in my creative journey. Coming here with a camera, a dress in my backpack, and no real plan other than to explore and create self-portraits became a turning point for me - both creatively and personally. That experience shaped how I approach photography today: as a way to take up space, tell stories, and connect with the landscape rather than perform for it.
During this retreat, I’ll guide photography experiences that are intuitive, accessible to all levels, and woven naturally into hikes and nature experiences - using the camera as a tool for storytelling, presence, and connection, not technical perfection.

AGATA & ERWIN

We are visionary freedompreneurs for whom personal growth is the driving force behind all our activities.
We have been living in our Arctic paradise in the Lofoten Islands for over 20 years. By doing what we love, we created Lofoten Planet.
We are both passionate about outdoor life and connecting with people and nature. Through mountain hiking, kayaking, ski touring and diving, we discover our islands again and again. We happily share our passions and the magical Lofoten with all our guests.
In cooperation with our partners, we have designed a unique offer of retreats, thanks to which we create a space for meetings, reflection, mindful adventures and personal development.
As your retreat leaders and hosts, we will welcome you with an open mind, curiosity and warmth. Our friendly and transparent style will make you feel comfortable and safe during your stay.

Tristan Bogaard

"My partner and I stayed at the Lofoten Planet boutique hotel numerous times, to lead photography workshops or to work and relax with friends of ours staying over too. I’d go as far as to describe the basecamp as a transformative experience”

Karina Fürst
Entrepreneur
"I participated in a workshop with the goal to gather professionals to create a think-tank for a retreat concept. Agata and Erwin were facilitators, and a total of 14 people worked together for 5 days. Lofoten Planet is the ideal place for such gatherings”

Malgorzata Wolska
